Sunnyvale Trailer Park’s greatest grappler from Part’s Unknown applying the Indian Deathlock Cobra Twist. I have this over at Society6 with some of the other wrestling holds from my Man of 1000 Holds series thing I’m doing.
I drew this Scorpion from Mortal Kombat applying a Scorpion Armlock for my Man of 1000 Holds series. I wanted this to look like 1990’s backyard or Indy wrestling but didn’t go the hardcore route. Seemed too obvious.
here’s a Gorilla Clutch drawing I did for my Man of 1000 holds series. Like my Orion/Kalibak drawing, i wanted to tap into that late 70’s early 80’s grimy masculine energy in pro wrestling because Mario was a guy that fought a gorilla with nothing but a hammer and a mustache. That’s hardcore, I don’t care how adorable he ended up being.
I wanted to combine the feeling of like 70’s New Gods comics with 70’s pro wrestling. Not sure if this has that grimy masculine energy I was going for but I’m kind of happy with it. I’ve always said I’d never get a tattoo but a Motherbox on the forearm is kind of badass.
This is Thor stretching out Loki with the Lightning Lock Delta. I was going to write something like “Say (whatever Thor’s uncle’s name is)” but I fully understand that’s a corny joke and every time I make one people reblog with way funnier stuff so I’m going to assume someone will say something funnier with the reblog. Thanks.
A few days ago, totally unprovoked, the homey Chris Sims said I should draw Wonder Woman doing a high angle Boston Crab because… well that’s really a question for Chris Sims. #askchris Anyway, its fun to alternate between calm peaceful female superheroes and then just brute violence like this.
Yesterday, I asked for a comic book character and a wrestling move yesterday and my buddy Chris Graves suggested Aquaman doing an Octopus Stretch. Sounded like a cool idea so I was like you know what? Tomorrow. And that’s today.
